F.A.Q. on Bible Study Classes:
Do you have to be a
believer in Christ to be a part of a Bible Study class?
No the classes are open to anyone.
Are the classes only
for people who are very knowledgeable about the Bible?
No, some people have spent most of their lives reading and studying the
Bible, others are brand new to Bible Study. The classes will meet the
needs of all people.
Do you have to be a
church member to attend a Bible Study class?
No, you don’t have to be a church member; in fact, many
people will join a Bible Study class before they ever join the church.
Enrollment in an Adult Bible Study class will help you to stay in touch
with the class, and what is going on.
How do I find the
best Adult Bible Study Class for me?
We encourage folks to look at the class list as a guideline. Choose a
class that fits your age range (all of the class age ranges are
approximate), visit in that class and if you would like to visit in
another class, go right ahead. Our main interest is that you find a
class you feel comfortable in and our teachers are very comfortable
with people visiting several different classes before finding the right
one for them.
I am rather quiet
and don’t like to talk in groups, are the classes lecture
style or discussion style?
Each teacher is somewhat different. Some will tend to lean more towards
lecture and others prefer to get the class involved in discussion or
group activities. If you visit in a class that doesn’t meet
your style, please feel free to visit in another.
Will I be called
on to lead in prayer, or read the Bible out loud in class?
Teachers are very aware that visitors in their class may feel a bit
uncomfortable already. They would not call on you to share unless you
have already let them know it is okay to do so.
Rocky Creek is
such a large church, how can I find where I need to go?
We have greeters at each entrance on Sundays, and 3 Welcome Center
sites (Preschool entrance, Fellowship Hall entrance, and beside the
Sanctuary). The greeters and Welcome Center hostesses will gladly lead
you to a classroom, and will even take you to deliver your children to
their classrooms first.
