Sermons Online

What Is Podcasting?
"Podcasting" makes sermons available online for church members and others to download and hear over the computer or portable MP3 player. This allows "subscribers" to download new sermons automatically when available. Missionaries, students away-from-home, or those who cannot attend church for medical reasons, can all catch-up on missed sermons.

What Do I Need to Receive the Podcast?

You may have thought that without an iPod (or other portable MP3 player), you can’t benefit from podcasting. In fact, you don’t need a portable player at all, much less an iPod. There are many podcasting "aggregator" software applications that are available for free download to manage your podcast needs. Two of the more popular are iTunes and Juice. Since it is so popular and user friendly, the directions on this page are specifically for podcasting with iTunes. There is no cost for using the iTunes software or subscribing to Rocky Creek's podcast.

Step 1: Downloading iTunes
If you don't already have iTunes installed, go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/ and click the "free download" button provided. Follow instructions given to complete the installation.

Step 2: Subscribing to the Podcast
After your installation is complete, launch iTunes, click on the "Advanced" menu item in the iTunes interface and select "Subscribe to Podcast".

Copy and paste the following url into the "Subscribe to Podcast" pop-up window.

Step 3: Downloading Sermons

Once you have subscribed to the Rocky Creek podcast, iTunes will automatically download the most recent sermon. All other available sermons will be displayed with the word "GET" beside them (click the small arrow pointing to the right next to "Rocky Creek Baptist Church to expand the list of all available sermons). To download any previous sermons, click "GET" and the download will automatically begin. In the future, each time it is opened, iTunes will look for new sermons once a day and will automatically download new sermons when opened. Downloading options can be modified by clicking the settings button on the bottom right corner (or by selecting "Edit" and then "Preferences" above).

If you have any problems with subscribing to the podcast, send an email to webservant@rockycreekonline.org for assistance.
