In early 2002 God gave me a burden for preschool families in our area. At that time Rocky Creek did not have a weekday preschool program. When I shared my heart with our Pastor he told me he knew just the person to make it happen. Seven years later, I’m still here trying to find her!!
Watching God grow this program has been such a blessing. We seek to honor Him in everything we do.
My husband John and I have three beautiful children. Kinsley is 17 and is a senior at Mauldin High School. Garrett is 13 and in 7th grade at Mauldin Middle and our baby Elizabeth is 6 and in 1st grade at Mauldin Elementary. We also have two dogs, Chloe and Sobe. We are all active members here at Rocky Creek!
There is never a dull moment in our house! When I do find a spare moment I enjoy reading and photography, and we spend time with our family every chance we get. On Saturdays in the fall the only place I want to be is Where the Blue Ridge Yawns its Greatness…Where the Tigers Play!!!

I grew up in the Mauldin area and attended Bethel Elementary, Hillcrest Middle, graduated from Mauldin High and then went on to the University of South Carolina in Columbia where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1989.
My husband Sam and I have two sons; Charlie is 15 and a sophomore at JL Mann High School and our youngest son Ross is 10 and in the 5th grade at Oakview Elementary. Both of our sons are very active in church activities, team sports (mainly football), hanging out with friends and family and just being boys. They really keep us on our toes! We have 2 dogs named Kacey and Brinkley. They are Cocker Spaniels and a very important part of our family too.
I have taught 4 year old preschool for 9 years using the ABeka curriculum and am very familiar with the program and the great things it has to offer. We will begin each morning with a group circle time where we will go over the activities of the day, update the calendar and weather, recite the pledge of allegiance and talk about our Bible story for the week. From there we will begin our lessons for the day, create fun arts and crafts, try some cool class science experiments, practice socialization skills through guided centers (manipulatives, home living, reading center, computer center, art center, etc.) and end our classroom time with another circle where we will read, sing some serious as well as silly songs, review weekly Bible stories, etc. Recess and lunch will complete our busy schedule. Weekly, we will be going to chapel for a special Bible lesson and Art and Music with Ms. Leslie.
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to watch our sons play ball, reading and teaching, which is why I can’t wait to get the year started. I look forward to a great year with you all. |

Right out of high school I decided to take a year off of school and not go directly to college, well I needed a job and I really couldn't find one. I really felt God telling me that I needed to have a job working with kids, children have always been my passion. In November of 2008, I was asked if I would like a job, working at Rocky Creek Preschool, of course I said yes that I would love to. I started working at Rocky Creek right before Thanksgiving. I have been there ever since. I love working at Rocky Creek. It has been such a blessing, getting to work there. I am a teacher's aide, I love helping as much as I can for the teachers. With God giving me the ability to help teach children about God is the highlight of my day everyday I am at work. I have been with Rocky Creek Preschool for about a year now, and loving every minute of it. Just recently, I was offered another job working at Mr. Knickerbocker, a Clemson store, which works out well because I am a die hard Clemson fan. God has blessed me tremendously the past year and a half and I thank him everyday for the things and opportunities he has given me.
