Youth and Adult Basketball
Youth basketball teams depend on interest from our middle school and high school students. We have played in several different leagues in the past and each season we assess in which league to participate and how many teams to have. Sign ups for basketball are usually in September, October, November. Please contact the church office if you are interested in participating in a youth basketball team.
Men's Open Basketball Night
Each Monday, from 7:30 P.M. until 10:00 P.M., the gym will be open for Men’s Open Basketball for ages 18 and up. For more information, please contact Jerry Smith at 616-8133.
Upward Basketball™ and Cheerleading
Upward® uses the game of basketball and cheerleading to teach children (boys and girls in K5-6th grade) that they are Winners! Not only are the children Winners in the game of basketball and cheerleading, but they are Winners, period. In Upward we teach the fundamentals of basketball and cheerleading, but we also teach much more. Through basketball and cheerleading, salvation in Jesus Christ is shared with all participants, and all the children are encouraged to grow in their character development and self-esteem.
In Upward Basketball™ all children make the team and each child is given a great opportunity to develop their game since players of equal ability play against one another. Also, the teams are organized as even as possible and no league standings are kept. Any child who wants to cheer will make the squad. In Upward the squads don’t have a particular team that they cheer for each week, but they cheer for all the basketball teams participating. The focus is more on having fun and learning, not winning, because in Upward Every Child Is A Winner™!
Aerobics Class
God is the One who created us, and He is the One who gives us life. Since we are His, we should honor Him by taking care of our bodies. Each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 8:30am-9:30am (during the school year) there is an aerobics class for women that meets in the gym. Any lady is invited to attend, and there is no cost for the class. However, child care is not provided either. Come join us for some exercise and fellowship with other ladies. For more information please contact Greta Hamilton at 303-4429.
Softball
Throughout the year (spring, summer, and fall) we have a men’s softball league where you can “swing for the fences.” We have played in the Greenville County Recreation League at East Riverside Park and the YMCA league on Highway 14.
Please contact Hugh Bailey, hbailey01@charter.net, for more information about the softball leagues..
